What is Landing Page?

A landing page is a standalone page built for one campaign with one action in mind. No site navigation pulling people sideways, no competing offers, one thing to do. Sending paid traffic to your homepage instead remains the most common and most expensive shortcut in performance marketing, and it is taken every day.

Landing Page

How a landing page actually works

The visitor arrives carrying an expectation the ad created, so the first screen has one job: confirm they are in the right place by repeating the promise, showing the product or property, and making the next step unmissable.

Below that, the order that works is proof, then objections, then the action again. Reviews or testimonials, specifics on delivery or pricing or possession, a short FAQ handling the three things everybody asks, another call to action. Strip the header navigation. Every link out is a way to leave without converting.

Where teams get landing pages wrong

Message mismatch. The ad promises a monsoon offer on one specific sofa, the page shows a general furniture collection, and the visitor now has to go hunting for the thing they were shown thirty seconds ago. Most will not bother.

Second, asking for too much, since a form demanding name, phone, email, city, budget, timeline and preferred configuration collects far fewer leads than one asking for name and number. Gather the rest on the call.

Third, page weight. A hero video, a slider, three fonts and a chat widget take long enough to load on a mid-range Android that a real share of your paid traffic leaves before seeing anything. Test on a real phone.

What good looks like in India

Build mobile first, keep the primary action visible without scrolling or use a sticky button, and put a WhatsApp option next to the form, because plenty of Indian buyers would far rather send a message than fill in fields.

Trust elements carry more weight here than most teams assume. For property that means RERA registration details, completed project history and clear possession timelines, while for e-commerce it means return policy, delivery estimate by pin code and visible reviews. Put them where hesitation happens, not in a footer nobody reaches.

FAQ

Landing Page — questions, answered.

Should a landing page have navigation? +

Generally no. Removing the header menu keeps attention on the single action you want. Keep essential legal links in the footer, since privacy policy and terms are frequently required both by ad platforms and by regulation.

How long should a landing page be? +

As long as it takes to answer the objections that actually stop people buying. Low-ticket impulse products need very little, while property, education and B2B services need substantially more because the decision carries more risk.
